Green Bay, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay women's tennis team dropped their first match of the weekend to Chicago State by the final score of 2-5.

The Cougars took the doubles points to open the match, followed by No. 3 and No. 6 singles in two sets each to jump out to a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore Mia Melnizki stopped the quick surge from the home team by winning No. 4 singles 7-6, 6-1.  Unfortunately for Green Bay, Chicago State won No. 5 singles soon after to guarantee them the victory.

However, junior Estelle Vanthier was victorious in the following match in No. 1 singles, defeating Kristina Pukhaeva 7-5, 6-4.
