Chicago, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay women's tennis team dropped a close match against Omaha this evening by the final score of 2-5.
To begin the match, the Mavericks won No. 1 doubles before the pairing of Teresa Tebon and
Kaori Terunuma took the victory in No. 3 doubles 6-4. Unfortunately, Omaha secured the doubles point with a tough win in No. 2 doubles to take the 1-0 lead.
The Mavericks took the next three points to claim the match, but nothing came easy for Omaha.
On a positive note for the Phoenix, Terunuma and
Yasmin Glazbrook won in No. 6 and No. 2 singles.
"I couldn't have asked for a better effort from the team," stated head coach Rob Oertel. "Today was a very hard-fought match for both sides and today Omaha came out the victor."
