Redman Sets Program History, Becomes only Third Member to Qualify for Olympic Trials

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) –Green Bay swimmer Ben Redman made program history at the Horizon League Championship meet a few weeks back by securing a spot at the United States Olympic Trials in the 50 free. 

Redman's was the only competitor at the time trial to qualify for the event, recording a time of 23.18, with the cut time needed being a 23.19.  He is only the third member in program history to qualify for the Olympic Trials.

"This is a great accomplishment for our program and for the swimming community in the Green Bay area. It is one of the greatest achievements in our sport as a whole and it was an amazing swim to get him there," stated interim head coach Eddie Gillie. "Being only the third person in program history to qualify is an amazing feat for Ben and I can't wait to see how he does out in Omaha in that environment."

The junior will head to Omaha, Nebraska, for the meet that will take place from June 21st through the 28th.
