GREEN BAY, Wis. – Director of Athletics
Josh Moon named Alex Lewis the next head coach for the Green Bay Phoenix Swimming and Diving teams Monday afternoon. Lewis will begin his first day as head coach on Monday, November 15, and will serve as the leader for both the men's and women's swimming and diving programs.

Lewis is familiar with the Horizon League, spending 2010-2014 as a swimmer at Cleveland State. Lewis was a Horizon League champion in multiple events, including the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. Lewis was also named the Horizon League Swimming Athlete of the Year in 2014.

His knowledge of coaching the sport stood out among the candidates. Alex's familiarity with the Horizon League and experience as a Horizon League champion swimmer will continue to elevate GB Swimming and Diving student-athletes. I anticipate the forward and upward trajectory of GB Swimming and Diving will continue under his leadership."
Lewis will arrive in Green Bay after spending the past seven years as a coach at the Mercy HealthPlex in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as the Head Site Coach from 2014 to 2017 before being named the Regional Head Swim Coach in August of 2017. Lewis also served as an Assistant Swim Coach at Xavier University from 2014 to 2017. Lewis helped the Musketeers capture back-to-back Big East Championships in 2015 and 2016.
