GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swimming and diving teams were in action Thursday evening against IUPUI at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium. It was the season home opener for the Phoenix.

The Green Bay women dominated the 200-yard freestyle, with Kaleigh Gale, Maria Mayorga, Kathryn Fisher, Maddy Weber, and Megan Mellock finishing in the top 6. Kasal Max, Ramiro Tidwell, and Simon Seel were in the top six of the men's 200 freestyle.

Faith Eilertson led the women with a time of 26.20 in the 50-yard freestyle. Sofia Orellana was a half-second behind her, finishing in fifth.

Jerry Mansavage finished a 21.36 time on the men's side of the 50-yard freestyle, good for second place. Rafe Dolan Peterson was on his heels for third place, and Ethan Braatz was .47 seconds behind Peterson for fourth place.

Ella Anderson led the women in the 200-yard IM, completing the race with a time of 2:17.03. Isabelle Houseman, Carly Zaprzal, and Rialey Anderson rounded out the top seven.

Sebby Smolecki took first in the men's 200-yard IM, besting out IUPUI's Logan Kelly by less than two seconds. Calvin Kremer finished in the top five with a 1:59.22 time, good for fourth.

Mansavage also placed second in the men's 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a final time of 47.10 and four points. John Burnard took second in the 500-yard freestyle with four points and a time of 4:50.74.

Ella Anderson touched the wall in 2:29.00 in the women's 200-yard breaststroke. Smolecki tallied a time of 2:11.45, good for second, in the men's 200-yard breaststroke.

UP NEXT
Green Bay has a quick turnaround and will host Valparaiso tomorrow, October 29. The meet will start at 2 p.m.
