Green Bay Swimming Competes Against Valparaiso

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swim team was in action on Saturday, hosting Valparaiso at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium. GB had solid performances from the men and women. Green Bay defeated Valpo 171-91 on the men's side while the women handled the Crusaders 165-86.

COMPLETE RESULTS

The Phoenix had first and second-place finishers in the 200 medleys, led by Kaitlyn Sims and Esther Oswald for the women and Sebby Smolecki and Calvin Kremer for the men. Kathryn Fisher dominated the 1000-yard freestyle, taking first by 25 seconds. John Burnard had the same success, winning the men's 1000-yard freestyle by 18 seconds.

Alexa Kelly led the Phoenix in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.91. Green Bay had four in the top six including Kaleigh Gale, Grace Morgan, and Caroline Rupp. Adham Elkassas, Jack DeMarco, Ethan Braatz, and Max Stafford all finished in the top four in the men's 200-yard freestyle.

Alli Misialek led the GB women in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:17.47. Isabelle Houseman wasn't far behind with a 2:19.92 time. Burnard also participated in the 200-yard butterfly and posted a winning time of 1:59.03.

Rupp and Kremer took first in the 200-yard backstroke. Rupp recorded a time of 2:16.22, just edging out Valpo's Sophia H. Morelock, who finished with a time of 2:16.81. Kremer won handily, beating out the Crusaders' Owen Cullinan, who notched a time of 2:06.80.

Green Bay will visit St. Norbert College in nearby De Pere, Wis., on Saturday, November 12. GB's next home invitational is Friday, December 9.
