DE PERE, Wis. - The Green Bay men's and women's swimming and diving teams secured their second win of the 2022 season by downing the St. Norbert Green Knights.
The women's team registered its second consecutive win, 169-110, while the men secured a 165-108 victory. The women improved to 2-2 this season, while the men improved to 3-1 overall.
Green Bay won 20 events, with the women winning nine and the men claiming 11.
Women's 1-Meter
Caitlyn Greenwalt broke the pool record in the 1-meter with a score of 261.30. Jordan Kute finished second overall with a score of 210.50.
Men's 1-Meter
Miles Rohrbaugh also broke the pool record in the 1-meter with a score of 345.55. Finishing second with a score of 227.90 was sophomore Andy Groebner.Â
Women's 200 Medley RelayÂ
Green Bay started the meet off strong with a first-place finish. The relay team of Alli Misialek, Faith Eilertson, McKenna Metropulos, and Kaleigh Gale finished with a time of 1:51.28.
Men's 200 Medley Relay
The GB men followed the ladies' lead with a victory in the 200-medley relay. The relay team of Calvin Kremer, Alex Smolecki, Rafe Dolan Peterson, and Jerry Mansavage finished with a time of 1:34.05.
Men's 1000 FreestyleÂ
Freshman Simon Seel touched first in the 1000 Freestyle after a back-and-forth battle that separated by only six-tenths of a second.
Women's 200 Freestyle
Junior Ella Anderson led the race from start to finish to take first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:04.88.
Men's 100 Backstroke
Jerry Mansavage exploded to a career-best of 50.64 and a first-place finish in the men's 100 backstroke.
Women's 100 Breaststroke
Sophomore Faith Eilertson raced to the wall first with a 1:07.70 in the women's 100 breaststroke.
Men's 200 Butterfly
Junior Sebby Smolecki broke the two-minute barrier for a first-place finish and a final time of 1:59.73.
Men's 50 Freestyle
Freshman Max Kasal led the way to the wall in the men's 50 freestyle with a season-best time of 21.11.Â
Women's 100 Freestyle
Sophomore standout McKenna Metropulos led from start to finish, touching the wall with a season-best time of 53.45.Â
Women's 200 Backstroke
Sophomore Esther Oswald raced away from the field and took first in the women's 200 backstroke with a season-best time of 2:11.71.Â
Men's 200 Backstroke
Junior captain Calvin Kremer dominated the men's 200 backstroke from start to finish to touch the wall at 1:55.51. Freshman Nathan Halbach finished with a time of 2:04.39.
Men's 200 Breaststroke
Freshman Simon Seel followed up his victory in the 1000 freestyle with a win in the 200 breaststroke, taking the event with a time of 2:15.50.
Women's 500 FreestyleÂ
Sophomore captain Katherine Fisher touched first in the women's 500 freestyle with a time of 5:24.14. Junior captain Grace Morgan followed with a time of 5:27.21.
Men's 500 Freestyle
Freshman Max Kasal showed off his ability to swim distance, winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:48.21. Sophomore John Burnard wasn't far behind with a time of 4:50.46.
Women's 100 Butterfly
Junior captain Alli Misialek fought to the end to touch first in the women's 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.12.
Women's 200 IM
McKenna Metropulos followed up her victory in the 100 Freestyle with a win in the 200 IM, chasing down fellow teammate Kaitlyn Sims on the final 50 freestyle. Metropulos finished with a time of 2:18.83 to just out-touch Sims at 2:19.12.Â
Men's 200 IM
Junior Captain Sebby Smolecki finished with a career-best time in the 200 IM at 1:54.47.Â
Women's 200 Free Relay
The women's 200 freestyle relay started strong with a pool record from McKenna Metropulos, finishing with a time of 24.43. The rest of the relay included Kaleigh Gale, Sofi Orellana, and Faith Eilertson, who never gave up the lead and finished first with a time of 1:40.64.
Men's 200 Free Relay
The men's relay of Ethan Braatz, Rafe Dolan Peterson, Jerry Mansavage, and Max Kasal broke another pool record on the day with a time of 1:26.42.Â
COMING UP
The Phoenix is on the road for a multi-day invitational starting Thursday, November 17, to Saturday, November 19. They will take on multiple teams, including conference foes IUPUI and Milwaukee.
