DULUTH, Minn. – The Green Bay Nordic Skiing team participated in the CCSA Conference Championships at Spirit Mountain Nordic Center this past weekend against Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, College of St. Scholastica, St. Olaf College, and Montana Endurance Academy.
GB finished fourth as a team in the 20K Classic on Saturday and fourth in the 7.5K Skate on Sunday.
On Saturday,
Ryan Thieme paced the Green Bay men finishing 18
th at 19:45.3.
CJ Young finished right behind in 20:08.7.
Lilly Franzen also placed 18
th for the Phoenix women finishing in 23:04.3.
Silje Busklein and
Jenna Johnson finished in 25
th and 27
th respectively.
On Sunday,
Ryan Thieme once again paced GB finishers at 16
th place in 1:00:48.5.
Noah Erickson and
Derek Waddick finished in 22
nd and 26
th place right behind him.
Lilly Franzen led the Green Bay women, finishing in 20
th in 1:13:32.4.
Silje Busklein finished 25
th.
Kiera Rotar and
Chelsey Johnson finished 27
th and 28
th.
COMING UP
The Phoenix will have this weekend off before heading up to Houghton, Mich. for the NCAA Central Regional Skiing Championships. The event will take place at the Michigan Tech Trails, and will start with the 7.5K skate on Saturday, Feb. 24 before the 20K Classic on Sunday, Feb. 25.
