The Phoenix dropped all three contests last week to Youngstown State. In game one of
last Saturday's doubleheader, the Penguins went up big early, putting up three runs in the bottom of the first and second innings to take a 6-0 lead. Green Bay pushed two runs across on a two-run double off the bat of senior Sam Saloun that scoredÂ
Bella Herman andÂ
Kendal Herschbach, which tightened the Penguins' lead to 6-4. GB added another in the sixth with a Herman two-out RBI double but was unfortunately unable to get any closer and fell 6-5.
Game two featured a lot of runs scored at the start, with the Phoenix scoring one run in the top of the first inning thanks to an RBI single from Saloun, scoring Herman from third base. The Penguins responded with a four-spot in the bottom of the first before GB came back with two runs of their own in the top of the second inning. This time Herman drove in two with a double to left center. YSU was able to hold the Phoenix there and added on four more in the fourth and one more in the sixth to wrap up game two, 9-3.

Kendal Herschbach, who finished 2-for-3 with a walk.Â
