DULUTH, Minn. – The Green Bay Nordic Ski team had a successful weekend at the Duluth Super JQ, finishing second overall among three teams. The Phoenix men won the Skate Sprint and 7.5K Skate Individual Start.

Fiskbergstrom Johansson led the Phoenix in the Skate Sprint on Saturday, finishing fourth with a time of 18:21.8. Zaine Braaten, Grant Rocheleau, and Noah Erickson were not far behind either. Braaten finished seventh in 18:41.3, Rocheleau finished eighth in 18:44.3, and Erickson finished ninth with a time of 18:46.6.

Five Phoenix women finished in the top 20 on Saturday, all within 15 seconds of each other, led by Lizzie Sonnefelt's 12th-place finish with a time of 23:41.5. Silje Busklein finished 13th with a 23:42.3, Lilly Franzen finished 14th with a 23:44.5, Jenna Johnson finished 17th with a 23:51.4, and Grace Nemeth finished 18th with a 23:56.4.

The men also had a great Sunday, led again by Johansson. Johansson finished second in the 7.5K Skate Individual Start, crossing the finish line in 17:43.5. Erickson and Braaten once again finished in the top 10, while Rocheleau came in 12th.

Franzen led the Phoenix women on Sunday, crossing the finish line sixth in 22:19.5. Sonnefelt finished 13th, while Busklein came in 17th.

"It's an exciting result for the team," said head coach Sam Myers. "Duluth is a course that we typically struggled on, so I'm happy with how the team performed. I think we have a lot of confidence and momentum going into our next weekend of races at the Cable Super JQ."

Green Bay is back in action right away this weekend at the Cable Super JQ. The races will take place at the American Birkebeiner, with the Classic Sprint taking place on Saturday and the 10K Classic Mass Start on Sunday.
