INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Green Bay swimming and diving teams had several more top times in program history recorded on Friday at the Horizon League Championships.
To start day three,
Hailey DuVall clocked a time of 4:35.30 in the 400 IM, good for 12th place. In the same event,
Kathryn Fisher wasn't far behind for a 15th-place finish. Sebby Smolecki represented the Green and White in the men's 400 IM, touching the wall in 3:54.64, good for 8th place.
Chris Aristondo took 10th place, recording a time of 3:58.75.
Moving to the 200 free events,
Emily Allen registered a time of 1:50.27, best for fourth place. Minutes later in the men's portion of the event,
Max Kasal was fantastic. He finished in third place with a time of 1:36.64. His time was less than one second behind second place, a second and a half shy of the record time, and was a team record.
Faith Eilertson took 15th place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.79, while
Eli Zimmerman was 10th on the men's side with a time of 55.62.
Esther Oswald was impressive in the 100 backstroke, setting a top-ten record in program history with a time of 56.25, good for seventh place.
Jerett Maalis and
Zacha King placed fourth and sixth, respectively on the men's side. The duo represented the only two freshmen in the A final. On Friday morning, King's preliminary time of 50.63 originally was a new top ten in program history.
On the boards,
Andy Groebner gave the Phoenix a couple of team points following his performance on the one-meter, scoring 251.10 points.
Saturday's final round of events includes women's three-meter diving, the mile, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relay. Coverage for all events will be streamed on ESPN+.
