MILWAUKEE -- Green Bay fell by a 7-0
score at instate opponent Marquette Sunday afternoon in women's tennis action to drop to 2-4 in the
spring season. It was the second straight road match for the Phoenix, which is
in the midst of a season-long five match road swing.
The No. 1 doubles squad of Lauryn Grimando (Oak Brook, Ill.) and Jennifer Bradfield (Fairfield, Iowa) put up the
toughest fight, falling by an 8-3 score to their Golden Eagle foes.
In singles play, Rebecca Nelson
(Brookfield, Wis.) played the closest match, as she suffered a 6-0, 6-3 defeat
in the No. 4 line. Emily Lawent (Milwaukee, Wis.), who has competed at the No.1
position this spring did not play singles against Marquette.
Green Bay returns to play next Sunday
when it plays Creighton in Milwaukee. Match time is slated for 9 a.m.
