INDIANAPOLIS,
Ind. - The Green Bay Phoenix women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat at the
hands of Butler on Friday to fall to 4-12 on the season. Green Bay is now 1-4
in Horizon League play.
Green Bay's
lone victory came at the No. 1 singles spot where Emily Lawent (Milwaukee,
Wis.) cruised to an impressive 6-1, 6-3 victory over Gabi Bobrowski.
At No. 4
singles, Lauryn Grimando (Oak Brook, Ill.) took Molly Casperson to three sets
before falling by a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 count. Lawent and Grimando also paired
together at No. 1 doubles and dropped a tiebreaker by an 8-7 (2) score.
Green Bay is
next in action tomorrow afternoon at Wright State.
