DAYTON, Ohio - The Green Bay women's tennis team pushed past Wright State, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in the team's final road match of the regular season. Green Bay claimed four of the six singles matches and two of three doubles contests to earn the win.
Emily Lawent (Milwaukee, Wis.) cruised at the No. 1 singles spot, earning a 6-0, 6-3 victory. She also partnered with Lauryn Grimando (Oak Brook, Ill.) at No. 1 doubles for an 8-3 victory. Grimando was a two-time winner as well, earning a 7-6, 2-6, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 singles.
Morgan Weuve (Green Bay, Wis.) was the other two-event winner for Green Bay. She won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and took an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
Laura Bartingale (Green Bay, Wis.) was the final singles winner for the Phoenix. She rebounded from a first-set loss to win 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 in the six line.
Green Bay completes its regular season Saturday at home against Detroit.
