GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Junior men's Nordic skier Jeff Cook
(Rhinelander, Wis.) is in the midst of completing his third season for the
Green Bay Phoenix.
Cook started off his skiing career as a
redshirt freshman at Northern Michigan, but then transferred to Green Bay as a
sophomore with four years of eligibility remaining.
"When I came to Green Bay, the program was more of a
skier-focused atmosphere with more one-on-one technique training and coaching,"
said Cook.
Cook had his best time of the season at the
USAA Michigan Tech Super Tour in Houghton, Mich., where he placed 14th in the
freestyle with a time of 44:25.4. Cook placed 32nd (classic) and 33rd (freestyle),
respectively, at the CCSA Conference Championships over the weekend and looks
forward to competing in the NCCA Central Region Championships on Feb. 18.
"Each year I have steadily improved and I am
looking forward to using the next couple races to springboard into an elite Central
skier," said Cook.

maintained a grade-point average of 3.8 while pursuing a triple major in environmental
policy and planning, public administration and political science.
