FLOSSMOOR, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's tennis team (1-7) got into the win column
on Sunday with a 7-0 sweep of Valparaiso at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet Club. Senior
Emily Lawent (Milwaukee, Wis.)
earned wins at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles spots to lead the
Phoenix, which moved to 1-2 in Horizon League play with the victory.
The Phoenix began the day by taking all three doubles matches, including the No. 1 spot in which Lawent teamed up with
Jennifer Bradfield (Fairfield,
Iowa) for an 8-5 win. Lawent also dominated the top singles match,
defeating Brittany O'Reilly 6-0, 6-0, while Bradfield won at No. 2
singles (6-2, 6-1) over Jackie O'Reilly.
