GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-2) dropped a 6-1 decision to Cardinal Stritch University on Friday night at Western Racquet and Fitness Club. It marked the first match of the spring for the Wolves (1-0), who went 5-1 in their fall season.
Freshman Claudia Negron (Lima, Peru) was the lone winner for the Phoenix, picking up a convincing 6-1, 6-3 victory over former Green Bay player Amanda Timm at No. 2 singles.
The Wolves won all three doubles contests to sweep the doubles point, and won each of the other five singles matches in straight sets.
The Phoenix women have a long break from competition, as they are next in action on March 7 at Milwaukee.
