GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Playing in its second match of the day, the Green Bay women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Valparaiso on Saturday evening at Western Racquet and Fitness Club.

Green Bay earned a pair of singles wins against the Crusaders, as sophomore Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) and freshman Claudia Negron (Lima, Peru) won at the top two spots.

Londre won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 against Valpo's Kaitlyn Hamel, marking her fifth No. 1 singles win in the last six matches. Negron picked up her second singles win of the day at the No. 2 spot, taking down Kristin Zakiewicz 6-1, 6-7 (5), 10-7.

The Phoenix also earned a doubles win on Saturday against the Crusaders, as Rachael Menos (Appleton, Wis.) and Lauren Miketinac (Green Bay, Wis.) won 8-1 at No. 2.

Green Bay is back in action on Sunday on its home court, welcoming UIC to Western Racquet at 2 p.m.
