HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-9) began its three-match road trip with a dual in Highland Heights, KY., against Northern Kentucky. The Phoenix fell 6-1 in the matchup but picked up wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles.
Northern Kentucky picked up the doubles point in the dual match, but the combination of Lauren Miketinac and Rachael Menos made things interesting and picked up the 6-2 match decision at the No. 2 doubles slot.
Stephanie Londre was all over the court in singles play this evening, downing NKU's Hailey Shanahan in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) and picking up the point for the Phoenix.
Olivia Headford was forced to withdraw from singles play in the matchup with Milwaukee last weekend but was back in play for Green Bay at No. 2 singles. Headford matched up with Sydney Power in singles play, falling 6-0, 6-2 in her return to the singles court.
The win was the third-straight victory for Northern Kentucky, and its fourth out of the past five matches.
The Phoenix women return to competitive action on Saturday, Mar. 21, as it continues conference play against Detroit.
