ROCHESTER, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-11) took part in its third match in four days this afternoon, taking on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in Rochester, Mich., in Horizon League dual action. The Phoenix was unable to garner a point in the contest, falling 7-0 in its road trip finale.
Olivia Headford and Samm Pedersen teamed up for a doubles victory at the No. 1 slot, but the Phoenix was unable to pick up another decision in doubles action, dropping the point and trailing 1-0 heading into singles play.
Green Bay was unable to respond to the 1-point deficit in singles action, dropping all six matches to the Golden Grizzlies.
Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) was pitted against Oakland's Cam Sabourin on the No. 1 court, with Sabourin coming out on top 6-2, 6-3. Headford and the Golden Grizzlies' Karine Celis competed at the No. 2 singles slot, with Celis defeating Headford 7-5, 6-1 to collect the point for Oakland.
The Phoenix women return home next weekend for a pair of dual matches on Saturday, March 28 against UW-La Crosse (12 p.m.) and St. Norbert (7 p.m.).
