GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (1-13, 0-4) hit the road today for a conference match against UIC (7-7, 3-0). The Phoenix women were unable to pick up a point in the matchup, falling to the host flames 7-0.
UIC came out strong and picked up the doubles point with wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts, and continued to have success in singles play by picking up victories on all six courts.
Stephanie Londre represented the Phoenix on the No. 1 court, matching up against UIC's Keti Mebuke. Mebuke controlled the tempo of the match, picking up a 6-0, 6-1 match decision over Londre and garnering the point for the flames.
The Phoenix women will have a short rest from competition, returning to action tomorrow to take on the Valparaiso Crusaders in Horizon League play at 1 p.m.
