MILWAUKEE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-4) returned to the court for the first time in nearly three weeks on Saturday evening in Milwaukee, falling to the Marquette Golden Eagles, 7-0.
Marquette took the opening two doubles contests before sweeping all six singles matches at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium on the campus of Marquette University.
Junior Olivia Headford (Ontario, Canada) battled against the Golden Eagles' Silvia Ambrosio at No. 1 singles, but Ambrosio prevailed 6-1, 6-1. Senior Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) and Erin Gebes squared off in the No. 2 singles contest, with Gebes also taking home a 6-1, 6-0 result.
The Phoenix women will return home to Western Racquet and Fitness Club on March 7, when they'll take on Chicago State at 6:30 p.m.
