DES MOINES, Iowa (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-2) traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, for the second of three non-conference duals this weekend, falling to the Bulldogs, 4-0, on Saturday morning.
Drake took the opening two doubles contests before sweeping the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The remaining three singles went unfinished.
Senior Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) battled against the Bulldogs' Mariel Ante at No. 1 singles, but Ante prevailed 6-0, 6-1. Sophomore Samm Pedersen (Green Bay, Wis.) and Tess Herder squared off in the No. 4 singles contest, with Herder also taking home a 6-1, 6-0 result.
The Phoenix women will have a short rest from competition before they take on the Creighton Bluejays tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
