DES MOINES, Iowa (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-3) finished up its three-city road trip on Sunday morning in Des Moines, Iowa, falling to the Creighton Bluejays, 5-0.
Creighton took the opening two doubles contests before sweeping the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center on the campus of Drake University. The remaining two singles went unfinished.
Senior Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) battled against the Bluejays' Ashley Ishimura at No. 1 singles, but Ishimura prevailed 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Chiara Berg (Friederika Bochum, Germany) and Darby Rosette squared off in the No. 3 singles contest, with Rosette also taking home a 6-1, 6-2 result.
The Phoenix women will return to the court on Feb. 20 when they travel to Milwaukee to take on Marquette at 5 p.m.
