GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Appearing in its final home match of the season, the Green Bay women's tennis team (1-14, 0-5 HL) dropped a 6-1 decision to the Horizon League co-leader UIC Flames (11-5, 5-0 HL) on Sunday morning at Western Racquet & Fitness Club.
Following the match, the team recognized senior Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) as part of Senior Day.
The Flames began by clinching the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, 6-3 and 6-1, respectively. In singles, Phoenix junior Jule-Sophie Hermann won her second match of the season at No. 4, 6-3, 6-4. However, the Flames proceeded to take the remaining five matches deciding the final margin.
Green Bay will travel to Ohio next weekend to play Youngstown State (6-11, 4-1 HL) and Cleveland State (11-7, 5-0 HL) on Saturday and Sunday.
