CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's tennis team were defeated 7-0 to Northern Kentucky (4-7, 2-2 HL) on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Sophomore
Tallie Piaskowski had one of the tightest sets of the match at the number two position, showing that while the Phoenix is still at a disadvantage without their usual full roster, the women continue to battle.
"Our women played hard, but NKU deserves credit for beating us," said head coach
Tim Dean. "There we several deuce points in doubles that Theresa and Tallie just couldn't convert. Maria and Samm had their chances in doubles but the match slipped away. Sterre found a way to turn some more score cards today which is a positive. Tallie also kept it close in the first set of singles, but it's tough rebound in the second mentally. The girls are learning and we'll keep taking small steps in the right direction."
Green Bay (1-10, 0-5 HL) will head north to finish their weekend of travel against Wright State tomorrow (Sunday, April 8).
